Fleet Electronic Support (FES) Technician
About the role
Providing remote and on-site technical support for deployed U.S. Navy Ship’s Signal Exploitation Equipment (SSEE) and CCOP systems
Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including cable diagrams, equipment schematics, configuration records, and maintenance procedures supporting various CCOP system configurations
Preparing and delivering written and oral status reports regarding installations, maintenance activities, and support provided to Atlantic Fleet platforms for supervisors and In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) personnel
Conducting system-level testing and validation to verify operational readiness and system performance
Reviewing Technical Manuals (TMs), procedures, and related documentation to ensure technical accuracy, completeness, and operational effectiveness
Supporting fleet operations by diagnosing, resolving, and documenting technical issues while ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures
Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
- A minimum of four years of Navy Shipboard Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) system maintenance, or equivalent experience is required
- Experience maintaining Ship's Signal Exploitation Equipment (SSEE) Increment E/F
- A minimum of three or more years of experience with Linux/Unix system administration, specifically CentOS 6/7 or Red Hat Enterprise Release 6/7/8
- Must currently hold a DoD 8570-compliant IAT II certification (SSCP or Security+ CE with appropriate CE/OS certificate) or be able to obtain within six months
- Candidates must possess a strong maintenance background, familiarity with Unix/Linux systems troubleshooting, low-level systems administration experience, or Radio Frequency (RF) testing experience
- Desired Skills: Navy CTM "A" and CTM "C" schools are preferred but not required if the candidate has relevant/documented On-the-Job Training (OJT) experience
General working knowledge in reference to the hardware installation, system configuration, system administration and maintenance of Cryptologic Carry-On Program (CCOP) systems to include CORSAIR, DRT, HITS, and REDFALCON Fleet Electronic Support (FES) experience
Qualifications
Consideration will be given provided they exhibit the ability to train to the aforementioned responsibilities
Candidates are expected to possess excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
The ability to lift equipment greater than thirty pounds (30 lbs.) and qualify for health screenings as required by U.S. Navy Safety Programs Afloat is required
Skills
