Flask Repair Welder - 1st Shift

About the role

Full-time position. Make welds to repair and/or prepare flasks for molding. Produce high-quality flask and flaskless airset sand molds on the No-Bake floor.

Responsibilities

• Use welding techniques to repair or prepare flasks for the molding department.
• Pull and store flasks, keeping them organized.
• Operate cranes and forklifts to move flasks safely.
• Produce NBL/NBF (flask and flaskless) airset sand molds per the Daily Molding Schedule, SOPs, and Work Instructions.
• Conduct start-up inspections following Maintenance procedures, including required documentation.
• Perform mixer calibration per Standard Operational Procedures on specified Maintenance and/or process control schedules.
• Inspect tooling per SOP for condition, lettering, core fit, and close-up.
• Adjust mixers as indicated on the Daily Molding Schedule, Work Instruction, or as required during calibration.
• Set up jobs for NBF/Carousel molding.
• Conduct shutdown procedures.
• Perform housekeeping to keep the work area safe and orderly.
• Prepare molds for pouring, including clamping and weighting.
• Maintain required documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Basic Math skills for calibration tasks.
• Basic Reading skills for SOPs, schedules, and Work Instructions.
• Basic Writing and Data Entry skills for process documentation and shop-floor reporting.
