Responsibilities
- Direct and control traffic in and around construction sites, following established safety procedures and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, crew, and pedestrians to ensure a clear understanding of traffic patterns and instructions.
- Use hand signals, flags, and other signaling devices to guide traffic and ensure safe passage through construction zones.
- Supervise traffic flow and adjust traffic control measures as needed to maintain a smooth and efficient flow of vehicles.
- Collaborate with construction crew members to coordinate flagging operations with ongoing construction activities.
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices, such as cones, signs, and barricades, in accordance with guidelines.
- Report any safety hazards, violations, or accidents to supervisors or appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Construction Flagger or similar role is preferred but not required.
- Ability to give clear and concise instructions regarding traffic modifications.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to remain focused and alert in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
Physical Requirements
- Successful completion of a Physical Abilities Test.
- Pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods, sometimes in adverse weather conditions.
- Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE), as required.
- Frequent exposure to loud noise.
- Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles.
