Responsibilities

• Direct and control traffic in and around construction sites, following established safety procedures and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, crew, and pedestrians to ensure a clear understanding of traffic patterns and instructions.
• Use hand signals, flags, and other signaling devices to guide traffic and ensure safe passage through construction zones.
• Supervise traffic flow and adjust traffic control measures as needed to maintain a smooth and efficient flow of vehicles.
• Collaborate with construction crew members to coordinate flagging operations with ongoing construction activities.
• Set up and maintain traffic control devices, such as cones, signs, and barricades, in accordance with guidelines.
• Report any safety hazards, violations, or accidents to supervisors or appropriate personnel.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Construction Flagger or similar role is preferred but not required.
• Ability to give clear and concise instructions regarding traffic modifications.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to remain focused and alert in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Adherence to safety protocols and regulations.

Physical Requirements

• Successful completion of a Physical Abilities Test.
• Pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods, sometimes in adverse weather conditions.
• Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE), as required.
• Frequent exposure to loud noise.
• Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles.
