About the role

To plan, organize, and deliver value-driven basketball skill development programs to participants in accordance with YMCA goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and leads basketball activities, routines and/or games for all participants.
• Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program.
• Organizes and maintains program records including, but not limited to attendance records, rosters, etc.
• Manages all equipment.
• Maintains a clean and risk-free environment.
• Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents.
• Safeguards all children by ensuring they are picked up by a parent.
• Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referring to appropriate person.
• Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3-5 years prior coaching or instructional experience.
• Training and qualifications in the specialized instruction area.
• Demonstrate ability to develop and teach skills.
• Effective use of technology for programmatic needs.
• Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to plan, lead, and participate in classes and activities.
• Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
