Flag Football Coach

About the role

The Flag Football Coach will support the Promise Academy After School program, bringing a passion for the mission of Harlem Children's Zone: breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty through comprehensive, on-the-ground programming.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute a high-quality flag football athletics program
• Develop daily conditioning, fundamental drills, and a strategic playbook
• Maintain ongoing communication with the Athletics Program Director
• Monitor and report on student progress and performance
• Collaborate with staff on student performance in various athletic activities and schoolwork
• Develop positive relationships with students promoting wellness, growth, respect, and self-esteem
• Act as a positive role model for students

Requirements

• High School or Equivalent or better
• Commitment to the mission and programs of HCZ
• Experience working with youth and adolescent populations
• College degree and at least two years of coaching experience, preferred
• Strong knowledge and understanding of football
• Solid understanding of youth sports and safety guidelines
• Able to travel to away games or events
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Positive, enthusiastic, collaborative, flexible, and approachable attitude

Pay

$25-$30 per hour

Schedule

• Fall/Spring: Monday-Thursday 2 PM- 7:30 PM, Friday 2 PM-7 PM
• Summer: Monday-Friday 11 AM-4:30 PM
