About the role

The City of Huntsville’s Public Transit department is seeking qualified applicants for the Fixed Route Bus Operator (Part-time) position. This role involves driving a medium duty shuttle bus on a fixed route, transporting passengers safely and courteously, conducting daily vehicle inspections, collecting fares, and performing basic record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Drive a medium duty shuttle bus on a fixed route
• Transport passengers in a safe, courteous, and professional manner
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections
• Collect fares from customers
• Provide information to customers
• Perform basic record keeping duties

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Significant experience in driving light duty buses on fixed routes
• Valid Class D Driver's License required upon hire
• Must obtain and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License - Class B (minimum), with Air Brakes and Passenger Endorsements within 90 days of hire or promotion

Qualifications
