Fitter/Welder

Job Responsibilities

• Work with the Fabrication Manager and other coworkers to ensure that all jobs are fit to their specifications and meet the drawing or best practice requirements/ tolerances.
• Lift or move materials and finished products using overhead cranes / hi-lo.
• Hammer, chip, and grind workpieces in order to cut, bend, prep and/or straighten materials.
• Lay out and examine materials for continuity to the required code/specification as well as to the required materials specified on the drawing.
• Tack weld joints when approved and in accordance with the WPS and their personal WPQR.
• Notify CWI for necessary/required pre-weld inspection and sign-off.
• Position, align, and fit parts to form complete weldments, following drawings and layout specifications. Using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
• Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Document actions by completing production timesheets.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma/GED, certificate in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent work experience.
