Responsibilities
- Use expertise in welding and metal fabrication to assemble components with precision, following blueprints, work orders, and instructions.
- Proficient in various gas metal welding techniques, including GMAW, GTAW, SAW, and SMAW.
- Ensure high-quality craftsmanship in every project with a keen eye for detail and strong understanding of materials and welding symbols.
- Work with welding processes such as structural welding, joint penetration, and partial joint penetration.
- Safely and efficiently operate assigned equipment, read and understand drawings, and adhere to quality assurance standards.
- Identify, lay-out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications and/or prints.
- Tack-weld or weld components and assemblies, performing tasks in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead).
- Perform duties indoors in a shop setting with occasional work outdoors.
Requirements
- 2+ years of welding and fabrication experience in an Industrial Metal Shop.
- Successfully complete a weld test before employment.
- Pass certifications in both GMAW and GTAW welding within 30 days.
- Advanced ability in reading and interpreting blueprints, including dimensioning and welding symbols.
- Proficient in the use of manual plasma cutter and oxyfuel cutting torch.
- Possess advanced knowledge of metal plate types and sizes.
- Experience with overhead cranes.
- Valid driver's license required.
Qualifications
- Completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Participation in random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing as requested.
