Essential Duties

  • Read and interpret assembly instructions, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication.
  • Fit and align parts to meet drawing specifications and prepare components for welding.
  • Perform fabrication tasks including plasma cutting, gas burning, grinding, and material preparation.
  • Ensure proper alignment and fit-up of components while accounting for weld distortion and tolerances.
  • Safely handle assemblies using overhead cranes and other material handling equipment.
  • Manufacture components using various raw materials, tools, and hand tools.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, including assisting with training as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable MIL specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all safety procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Skills Requirements

  • A high school diploma or trade school certification is required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant fabrication experience are required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings is required.
  • Proficiency with fabrication tools including welding equipment, plate cutting tools, and grinders is required.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes and material handling equipment safely is required.
  • A strong understanding of metal properties and materials used in fabrication is required.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills are required.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.
  • A strong attention to detail, accuracy, and manual dexterity are required.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • US citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GMAW-P and GTAW welding processes across materials such as 2209, 625, 316, 82, 100S, 70S, CuNi 67, and NiCu-7 is preferred.
  • Experience working with small diameter pipe and socket welds in stainless materials is preferred.

About the Role

As a Fitter/Fabricator at DC Fabricators, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, made-to-spec components. Qualifications
