Fitness Specialist - Per Diem

About the role

The Fitness Specialist is responsible for providing professional fitness services to members and clients for the LifeCenter, based on their training to appropriately meet their health and fitness needs. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

Potential for exposure to the hazards and risks of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires frequent walking and standing and occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.
• Performs essential functions for this position as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Exercise Science or related science required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days from date of hire or transfer.
• Nationally recognized Personal Training certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer. ACSM Health Fitness Instructor, NSCA, NASM, or ACE Personal Trainer certification preferred.
• Experience working with a medical fitness program preferred.
