Responsibilities

  • Conduct one-on-one and group training exercise sessions with members and non-members.
  • Perform exercise testing and evaluation, and develop appropriate exercise programs.
  • Seek out opportunities to teach Group Classes and teach Group Classes as requested by management.
  • Perform appropriate movement screens and select fitness tests that are both safe and appropriate for the individual.
  • Utilize assessment protocols and program skills as documented in member files and reviewed on a quarterly basis by fitness services supervisor.
  • Review random fitness training programs to ensure the latest ACSM guidelines, member goals, and assessment results are met, including information in the exercise programs prior to the training session with the member.
  • Assist with equipment cleaning and maintenance.
  • Rotate through member retention committee meetings and contribute constructive ideas verbally, in writing, and follow through.
  • Complete a minimum of three CEU courses related to primary responsibilities and report information learned at either monthly fitness staff meetings or personal trainer retreats.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Woman’s Hospital.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Kinesiology or a health-related discipline.
  • Three years of experience in personal training and/or exercise instruction preferred.
  • National certification in personal training or exercise physiology required within 90 days of hire.

Schedule

  • Monday - Thursday: 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Friday: 11:30 PM - 7:00 PM
  • Rotating weekends: Saturday 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM / Sunday 10:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Pay

Hourly/Non-Exempt $17.00 - $24.00; based on work experience.
