About the Role
As a Fitness Professional at Touchmark on West Century, Bismarck/Mandan’s leading full-service retirement community, you will enrich lives each day by assisting, monitoring, and instructing residents in the safe and effective use of equipment and weight machines to meet their personal fitness goals and needs. You will conduct fitness consultations and assessments, develop individualized fitness programs ensuring resident safety while following each resident's care plan, and lead group fitness classes aimed at strengthening muscles, increasing balance, and improving flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Assist, monitor, and instruct residents in the safe and effective use of fitness equipment and weight machines.
- Conduct fitness consultations and assessments for residents.
- Develop individualized fitness programs tailored to resident needs and care plans.
- Lead group fitness classes focused on muscle strengthening, balance, and flexibility.
- Model and uphold Touchmark’s values: excellence, teamwork, hospitality, integrity, and compassion.
- Encourage residents and team members to embody the principles of being an ally, friend, and giver.
Requirements
- Current certification through a nationally accredited organization (e.g., ACSM, NSCA, NASM, ACE).
- Four-year college degree in an exercise science-related discipline.
- Genuine interest in working with adults (age 40+) to help them achieve their physical fitness goals.
- Experience instructing group exercise classes in the format aligned with your certification.
- Positive, upbeat, and energetic approach to health, wellness, teamwork, and hospitality.
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Experience working with aging adults and/or special fitness populations.
- Experience in a retirement community setting.
