About the Role
The Personal Trainer / Fitness Instructor is responsible for developing, organizing, and maintaining an athletic and fitness program for residents in an effective, efficient, and professional manner. This role involves promoting wellness, providing exceptional customer service, and creating fitness programs tailored to residents' needs.
Responsibilities
- Advise residents on fitness and exercise principles, addressing major health risk factors.
- Promote the use of fitness facilities to residents.
- Provide exceptional customer service by exceeding client expectations.
- Develop, implement, and deliver fitness services and programs for community members.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge of fitness trends and personal training.
- Develop and teach fitness programs tailored to residents' needs, including individualized plans.
- Assess clients' physical fitness levels and help them set and reach fitness goals.
- Handle scheduling of personal training sessions and create workout incentive programs.
- Work with staff to ensure the cleanliness of fitness facilities.
- Demonstrate exercises safely and effectively, including modifications as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and residents in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience training in one-on-one, small group, and large group settings.
- Initiative and passion for engaging with community members.
- Must be able to stand in front of a group and demonstrate exercises safely and effectively.
- Must maintain good physical shape to perform exercises and movements as demonstrations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field preferred but not required.
- Accredited personal training or group training certification required.
- Current, valid CPR/AED certification.
- 2+ years’ experience in personal training or group fitness instruction.
- Ability to tailor programs to fit various age groups and fitness levels.
Work Environment
- Operates outdoors in an aquatic setting within a residential community environment.
- Moderate noise level.
Physical Demands
The Fitness Instructor must be able to stand in front of a group and demonstrate exercises safely and effectively, including modifications when necessary. Must maintain good physical shape to perform exercises and movements as demonstrations for clients.
Schedule
This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work are determined at the property level and may change to accommodate business needs.
