Fitness Instructor
About the role
Provides eligibility determination, career planning, employment counseling and intensive case management to clients. Conducts vocational and educational assessment. Provides resume development assistance, identifies appropriate skills training and follow-up services. Arranges for supportive services as appropriate and makes referrals to financial, mental health and family needs. Develops and conducts workshops preparing participants for job readiness. Maintains confidential case records, enters data into the computer system and prepares reports as required by local, state and federal agencies. Provides up-to-date information on Federal employment regulations in response to questions from participants and general public. Makes community-based presentations to enhance awareness of JobLink services. Evaluates participant’s progress in individual employability development plans. Assists participants in the completion of applications, arranging for physical and work permits. Collects and compiles data concerning background information on clients, enrollments, placements and terminations. Completes required management information forms, participants’ records and program reports. Attends team meetings and performs other related duties as required.

Requirements
- At least one year of experience in vocational guidance and counseling
- Completion of college-level courses in social science, guidance and vocational counseling, human service delivery systems, or a related field
- Preferred qualifications include good knowledge of employment and training activities, services and delivery systems; good knowledge of counseling and guidance principles and practices in group and individual settings; working knowledge of the area's labor market needs and how the BRAC workforce can fulfill the local market demand; ability to indentify relevant problems and needs of population group and to plan appropriate services in employability development; ability to maintain effective relationships with local agencies and organizations; ability to interpret laws, policies and regulations to ensure adherence to Federal, State, local and agency standards, guidelines, regulations, policies and laws; ability to develop and maintain accurate records related to participant activities and services; and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
