FITNESS INSTRUCTOR

About the role
Instruct members on the proper use of all exercise equipment at the Fitness Center. Monitor members' heart rates, demonstrate proper stretching techniques, and update fitness programs.
Responsibilities
- Monitor members' workouts and update their programs upon every visit.
- Orient members to the use of equipment and teach proper warm-up and cool-down exercises.
- Clean and maintain fitness equipment and area.
- Coordinate and promote a minimum of two member fitness activities per year.
- Motivate and greet members before and during their workout.
- Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Complete required education assignments annually.
- Work toward achieving goals and objectives, and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Perform other related duties as needed or requested.
Requirements
- Experience and knowledge of fitness equipment and principles of weight training necessary.
- Strong communication skills required.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill, and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a Bachelor’s degree in a directly-related field from an accredited college or university.
