About the Role
Assist with fitness and exercise programs for the community and employees. Perform consultations for Conditioning Club. Lead and perform exercise classes. Orient new clients to Conditioning Club equipment. Oversee the Conditioning Club and Pool. Perform assigned clerical tasks.
Responsibilities
- Exceed the expectations of members, prospects, employees, affiliates, and peers by maintaining focus on service as the primary objective.
- Perform aquatic life-saving procedures (certification required).
- Hold current CPR certification and training in First Aid techniques.
- Obtain or be capable of obtaining aerobic certification.
- Communicate and counsel effectively with individuals and groups.
- Demonstrate skilled and safe use of machine weights, free weights, and cardiovascular equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service; be energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational.
- Work a varied schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting while on duty.
- Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
- Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties.
- Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
- Pass all required health and other screening tests.
- Work in clean, neat, and well-lit conditions, but may be subjected to unpleasant sights, odors, stressful situations, and hazardous or infectious agents.
- Exercise judgment regarding necessary precautions in hazardous conditions.
- Tolerate ambient temperature variances and limited exposure to hazardous chemicals or substances.
- Potential exposure to infectious disease processes.
- Irregular or unexpectedly extended hours due to emergency circumstances.
- Direct contact with blood or other body fluids requiring universal precautions; personal protective equipment provided and must be worn.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Exercise Science or related field from a four-year college or university.
