Fitness Floor Attendant (substitute)

About the role

This is an opportunity for those looking to enter the fitness industry. HealthFitness has a new opportunity for substitute (hours per week based on demand) Fitness Floor Attendants to join our team within our client's fitness center located in Haymarket, VA. The role involves providing exercise floor supervision and interacting with members and program participants within the fitness center.

Responsibilities

• Interact with participants and monitor equipment and participant safety.
• Welcome members by greeting, answering questions, responding to requests at the front desk, and input data into the membership system.
• Perform facility maintenance; ensure the facility, equipment, and locker rooms are clean and always stocked.
• Understand and execute Emergency Medical Procedures throughout the facility.
• Demonstrate and instruct on the proper use of exercise equipment.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Adult CPR/AED & First Aid certifications from the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, or the American Safety & Health Institute will be required within the first 30 days of hire.
• Prior fitness and customer service experience strongly preferred.
• Computer application knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) strongly preferred.
• Physical demands require the ability to lift up to 40 lb. weights for restacking.
• Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills, including the ability to motivate others.
• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity.

Pay

$17/hr - $18/hr. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and skill set.
