Fitness Floor Attendant (part-time)

About the role
Join HealthFitness as a part-time Fitness Floor Attendant in Detroit, MI. You'll help create a welcoming fitness environment, interact with members, and provide fitness floor supervision. This flexible role offers up to 10 hours per week (evenings and Saturdays preferred), free parking, and the opportunity to provide personal training services if you hold a HealthFitness-approved Personal Training certification.
Responsibilities
- Interacts with participants and monitors equipment and participant safety.
- Welcomes members by greeting, answering questions, responding to requests while at the front desk, and inputting data into the membership system.
- Performs facility maintenance responsibilities; ensures facility, equipment, and locker rooms are clean and always stocked.
- Understands and executes Emergency Medical Procedures throughout the facility.
- Demonstrates and instructs on the proper use of exercise equipment.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Adult CPR/AED & First Aid certifications from the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, or the American Safety & Health Institute will be required within the first 30 days of hire.
- Prior fitness and customer service experience strongly preferred.
- Computer application knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) strongly preferred.
- Physical demands require the ability to lift up to 40 lb. weights for restacking.
- Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills, including the ability to motivate others.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity.
Qualifications
Current NCCA-Accredited Personal Training certification from an industry-recognized and HealthFitness-approved provider is preferred if you will be doing personal training.
Pay
The compensation range for this role is $14.00–$15.00 per hour. Additional commission opportunities are available for someone with an industry-recognized and HealthFitness-approved Personal Trainer certification. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
