About Pennock Health & Wellness Center
As part of Corewell Health, Pennock Health & Wellness Center promotes healthy lifestyles through fitness, education, and wellness resources. Located in Hastings, Michigan, the center provides members with access to exercise equipment, group fitness opportunities, personal training, and wellness-focused services designed to support overall health and well-being.
Scope of work
- Provides exceptional customer service throughout all areas of the wellness center, including the welcome center, café, fitness floor, locker rooms, and common areas.
- Greets members, guests, and prospective members, responds to questions and service requests, and helps create a welcoming environment that promotes member satisfaction and retention.
- Supports front desk and membership operations by performing member check-in, class registration, locker rentals, point-of-sale transactions, and sales of wellness center services and programs.
- Affords assistance with membership enrollment, conducts facility tours for prospective members, and maintains accurate member, guest, and prospect information.
- Affords assistance with café operations by taking customer orders, preparing food and specialty beverages, processing transactions, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment that meets or exceeds applicable health regulations.
- Supports members with basic fitness-related questions within established scope of practice and refers more complex exercise, wellness, or program needs to fitness professionals when appropriate.
- Promotes participation in wellness center programs and services while fostering positive member relationships.
- Maintains facility cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation by conducting regular rounds throughout the center, including locker rooms and fitness areas.
Responsibilities
- Follows established opening and closing procedures and works collaboratively with leadership to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Demonstrates accountability, sound judgment, and a commitment to providing high-quality service while supporting a positive member experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) within 60 days of hire.
- Six months of customer service experience in a high-volume service environment.
- Experience with cash handling, point-of-sale systems, accounting processes, or data entry.
- Previous experience or familiarity with the fitness, wellness, recreation, or hospitality industry.
