Fitness and Engagement Coordinator
Fitness and Engagement Program Administration
Coordinates the development, implementation, and evaluation of University Recreation fitness programs, including Group Fitness, Personal Training, and other related initiatives.
Develops program schedules, manages program logistics, supports instructor development, and ensures programs align with departmental goals, industry standards, and participant needs.
Program Assessment & Continuous Improvement
Conducts assessment of fitness and engagement programs through participation data, participant feedback, instructor evaluations, and program outcomes. Prepares reports, analyzes trends, and recommends improvements to enhance program quality, engagement, and operational effectiveness.
Aids in budget development and resource management for assigned programs.
Student Staff Leadership & Development
Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates Group Fitness Instructors, Personal Trainers, Content Creators, and assigned student employees. Develops training materials, establishes performance expectations, and ensures student employees provide safe, inclusive, and high-quality experiences for participants.
Marketing & Engagement
Supports University Recreation marketing and communication initiatives by developing promotional content, managing social media efforts, and assisting with campaigns that increase awareness and participation in recreation programs.
Collaborates with departmental staff to promote programs, events, and wellness opportunities.
Campus Collaboration
Collaborates with University Recreation staff and campus partners to support student engagement, wellness initiatives, and departmental programming.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sport Management, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in fitness, recreation, wellness programming, student services, or a related field.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification obtained within 90 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Recreation, Sport Management, Higher Education, Business Administration, Exercise Science, or a related field.
- Two (2) years of professional experience in campus recreation, fitness programming, wellness, or related areas.
- Experience supervising student employees.
