Role and Responsibilities
- Manage Team Leads, Team Members and other resources in achieving the production testing throughput with focus on Safety, Quality, and Efficiency
- Create, document, and sustain Standardized Work practices
- Develop and implement production scalability, workflow plans
- Responsible for creating and maintaining programs such as Training Program, Safety Program, Continuous Improvement Projects, etc and utilizing tools such as A3’s, 8-Step, RAIL’s.
- Implementation of new testing processes and operations
- Supervise and motivate a team of Team Leads and Team Members; creating a culture of personal responsibility, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Initiate and facilitate problem solving groups to resolve issues in order to meet the current and future needs of the company
- Maintain and improve quality and productivity metrics
- Cook with internal department teams such as Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Maintenance teams to ensure testing needs are met
- Manage team members’ shift schedules, time off, and department resource allocation
- Develop employee versatility plans and manage employee training
- Lead the Performance Management Process and any recommendations for compensation changes
- Manage any disciplinary actions required
- Initiate, coordinate, and manage inventory cost control programs
- Prepare and maintain area performance reports, especially evaluating performance to daily and goals
- Responsible for creating and promoting a safe and inclusive work group
- Responsible for developing and implementing 5S and housekeeping programs
- Achieve technical training and versatility required to obtain domain expertise
- Interview and hire new team members
Skills and Experience
- 3 + years of proven success as a hands-on leader and supervisory experience
- Electrical experience/background strongly preferred
- Computer systems knowledge including proficiency with MS Office programs, especially Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principals
- Superior communication skills (written, verbal, and active listening)
- Highly motivated self-starter, capable of self-management with little to no oversight
- Willingness to adapt to change and learn new technical and computer skills
- Poor interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish effective cross-functional working relationships
- Organized with good planning and time management skills
- Proficient with interviewing, training, developing, and handling disciplinary matters
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours per shift
- Occasionally lift/carry up to 25–50 lbs
- Use hands and fingers to operate machinery controls and computers throughout the shift
- Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materials
- Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff
- Ability to perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas (safety glasses, safety-toed boots).
