About the role

This position involves conducting complex investigations and managing data related to fish biology and hatchery operations.

Responsibilities

• Plans and conducts investigations into the effects of fish culture techniques and impacts of land and water development practices on fishery resources.
• Manages and interprets large datasets, using analytical techniques to design studies and interpret results for hatchery evaluations and ecological interactions.
• Prepares reports and briefs for internal and external audiences, including public meetings and conferences.
• Collates and edits contract reports, annual reports, and scientific documents for publication.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualification: At least one year of full-time specialized experience comparable to GS-09 in the Federal service, or a combination of education and experience.
• Specialized Experience: Performing work in or directly related to Fish Biology, including daily activities of a large fish hatchery production operations, propagating aquatic species, assisting in planning hatchery operations, observing fish for signs of stress or disease, writing reports, communicating biological or hatchery operations to an external audience, and compiling and maintaining records of fish production and distribution.
