Essential Functions
- Buils and monitors budget expenditures during the fiscal year to ensure compliance with budget limitations.
- Collects data on expenditures, projects budget expenditure trends and deficits and prepares reports.
- Identifies incorrect procedures and charges resulting in budget deficits and makes recommendations to eliminate deficits.
- Prepares, enters, and tracks requisitions in the City procurement system.
- Maintains compliance with grant requirements and prepares and maintains up-to-date records on grant awards and expenditures.
- Makes sure payroll expenses and ledgers are monitored and reconciled.
- Reviews and prepares grant applications for funding programs.
- Prepares and submits required program and fiscal reports.
- Assists in the receipt, distribution, and tracking of grant funded purchases.
- Represents Baltimore City and the Office of Emergency Management by participating in or attending local and regional meetings.
- Supports the procurement of equipment/supplies/resources needed during emergencies/incidents.
- Leads or supports the Emergency Operations Center staffing for planned and no-notice events.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, management, or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: Two years of experience in performing budgetary, fiscal, contract management or accounting work at a professional level.
- Previous federal grant experience with particular focus on fiscal reporting and compliance strongly preferred.
