About the role

Levine Music is seeking a compassionate, creative educator to join our First Music Department. The ideal candidate will inspire early childhood music-making and contribute to a collaborative, supportive community.

Responsibilities

  • Teach classes for children ages 4 months through 5 years using Levine’s First Music Curriculum
  • Attend First Music curriculum planning meetings and Professional Development sessions throughout the year
  • Perform in and co-lead seasonal, departmental events

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in music, early childhood music education, or a related field, or demonstrate comparable training and experience
  • Strong foundation in and passion for teaching infants, toddlers, and young children
  • Understanding of how music supports early development, creativity, and connection
  • Confidence leading engaging, play-based group classes for children and caregivers, including singing unaccompanied in a range appropriate for young learners
  • Experience playing a harmony instrument (i.e. guitar, ukulele, piano) for accompanied singing activities
  • Ability to create joyful, inclusive classroom environments
  • Experience working with students across a wide range of abilities, learning styles, and lived experiences

Qualifications

Qualified applicants will hold a bachelor’s degree in music, early childhood music education, or a related field, or demonstrate comparable training and experience.

Pay

Compensation will be awarded according to qualifications and experience.

Schedule

Teaching begins in September. Positions are part-time, teaching 3, one-hour classes on Saturday mornings, 9am-12pm at Levine West Falls Church Campus. Opportunities to teach additional classes may arise but are not guaranteed. The 15-week Fall session runs from September to December, the 15-week Spring session from January to April, and the optional 4-week summer session from May to June.
