About the Role

First Class Healthcare Staffing is conducting on-the-spot interviews at Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! Saginaw Service Center, 312 E. Genesee, Saginaw, MI 48607 on August 14th & August 28th from 11:30 am to 3:30 PM for multiple Caregiver positions in Saginaw, Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the instructions of the Caregiver Team Leader.
  • Engage client and provide companionship.
  • Observe and report any safety hazards found in the client’s home or any significant observations regarding the client.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in the orientation of new employees.
  • Report client complaints to the Caregiver Team Leader.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements and agency policy and procedures manual.
  • Follow written and oral instructions.
  • Report abnormal findings in client’s conditions to the Caregiver Team Leader.
  • Complete 12 hours of annual in-services.
  • Have knowledge of agency policy and procedures.
  • Provide protective oversight, prevent wandering, and standby assistance.
  • Use redirection techniques properly.
  • Provide accompaniment during outings, such as doctor visits, shopping, banking, and errands.
  • Encourage the client to exercise and provide standby assistance.
  • Prepare nutritious meals.
  • Sit with client to allow for caregiver respite.
  • Perform housekeeping duties including:
    • Wash dishes
    • Vacuum
    • Laundry
    • Empty trash
    • Change linen
    • Make bed
    • Mopping

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited High School or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow directions.
  • At least 18 years of age and has demonstrated competency.
  • Trained in first aid.
  • Work positively and favorably with clients, families, and staff.
  • Demonstrate compassion, responsibility, and a cheerful attitude.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities to enable effective communication.
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation to review a wide variety of materials in electronic or hard copy form.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate a personal computer, telephone, and other related equipment.
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to safely lift, move, or maneuver necessary items.
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to function efficiently in a general office environment and travel to various field sites.
  • Work in an office environment with moderate noise levels and controlled temperature conditions.
  • Interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
  • Travel to a variety of client homes, which may vary greatly in cleanliness, temperature, and overall condition.
