First Assistant Manager

About the role

The First Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in the Lubbock–Levelland Area.

Responsibilities

• Supports store leadership and drives an outstanding customer experience.
• Aids in daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, visual merchandising, inventory management, and ensuring adherence to company policies and standards.
• Coaches and develops store associates, providing regular feedback and helping schedule and allocate staff to meet business needs.
• Partners with the Store Manager to achieve sales goals, monitor key performance metrics, and implement initiatives that grow revenue and strengthen customer loyalty.
• Contributes to a positive, inclusive work environment by modeling maurices' values, resolving customer concerns, and promoting teamwork and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Retail leadership and customer service skills, including supervising teams, coaching associates, and delivering an engaging in-store experience.
• Sales and operations skills, such as driving revenue, monitoring store metrics, managing inventory, and supporting visual merchandising standards.
• Communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers, team members, and leadership, and to provide clear direction and feedback.
• Organizational and problem-solving skills to manage multiple priorities, maintain store standards, and address challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed in an on-site retail environment.
• Previous retail or supervisory experience preferred; fashion or apparel experience is a plus.
• Basic proficiency with point-of-sale systems and common office software; ability to learn new tools and processes quickly.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, retail management, or a related field is beneficial.
