Responsibilities
- Perform as a Certified Surgical First Assist in the operating room.
- Apply specific knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and instrumentation.
- Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with minimal supervision.
- Exercise sound judgment and take appropriate action in urgent or high-pressure situations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- Graduate of an Accredited program for Surgical Scrub Technicians.
- Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC) required within 7 days of hire.
- One or more years of experience as a Surgical Scrub Technician with CSFA certification.
- Extensive communication, team building, surgical assisting, and instrumentation skills.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential (or eligibility to obtain within a specified timeframe).
- Current BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- 6 months of on-the-job experience in a healthcare facility.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
