Responsibilities

• Perform as a Certified Surgical First Assist in the operating room.
• Apply specific knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and instrumentation.
• Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with minimal supervision.
• Exercise sound judgment and take appropriate action in urgent or high-pressure situations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Graduate of an Accredited program for Surgical Scrub Technicians.
• Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) certification required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC) required within 7 days of hire.
• One or more years of experience as a Surgical Scrub Technician with CSFA certification.
• Extensive communication, team building, surgical assisting, and instrumentation skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential (or eligibility to obtain within a specified timeframe).
• Current BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• 6 months of on-the-job experience in a healthcare facility.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
