About the role

This role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating surgical patient care efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with surgical team members to ensure timely patient care delivery.
  • Providing emotional and psychosocial support to patients and their families.
  • Maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques, and ensuring proper communication and documentation.
  • Positioning patients safely based on surgical requirements and assisting with environmental controls in the OR.
  • Handling medications, solutions, and supplies in accordance with policies, while practicing cost containment and accurate documentation.
  • Supporting a wide patient age range, from pediatric to geriatric populations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Previous First Assist or scrub tech experience.
  • Ability to respond quickly to on-call demands.
  • Proficiency in perioperative care across various surgical specialties.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Physical ability to stand for long hours, lift, turn, and move patients and equipment up to 250 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work under pressure, independently or as part of a team, in a dynamic environment.
