About the role
We are seeking a Firmware Software Engineer IV to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in embedded firmware development using C/C++, RTOS, and multi-threaded applications and a proven ability to deliver optimized, reliable firmware for graphics and display pipelines, debug across the software stack, and sustain CI-driven quality.
Responsibilities
- Develop high quality C and C++ firmware for embedded environments with portability across processors and platforms.
- Optimize firmware for graphics and display pipelines to support product use cases.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to tailor firmware, device drivers, stacks, and applications to project needs.
- Debug issues across the software and hardware stack, implement time-critical workarounds, and drive long-term fixes.
- Author new tests and maintain existing unit, manual, and CI automation tests.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of the full software development lifecycle from analysis and requirements to testing and delivery.
- 8+ years developing and testing low-level firmware for embedded systems with strong C and C++ production code experience.
- Experience with RTOS and developing multi-threaded applications.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and processes, including scripting in Python or similar for utilities and test automation.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and implement system changes as needed.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with sound interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of AR/VR technologies and graphics or display systems.
- Experience with device drivers and hardware-software integration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field required.
- 8+ years of industry experience in embedded firmware development, including C/C++ production code and test applications.
