Firmware Engineer

Duties

Aid leadership in developing new product ideas and concepts.

Identify and resolve product issues creatively.

Create and maintain progress reports for project monitoring.

Ensure compliance with Quality Management System requirements.

Create instructional technical manuscripts for firmware operations.

Communicate regularly with relevant internal and external parties.

Maintain open communication and adherence to company policies to minimize risk.

Solve problems and implement new or improved ideas.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Knowledge of firmware and hardware product development cycles.
• Experience with 8bit/16bit/32bit microprocessors, ARM cores, and/or Cortex-M0/M4.
• Experience with RTOS (Keil RTX, rtlinux, FreeRTOS, etc.), DSP, multi-task programming, concurrency, and/or IPC, event.
• Peripheral interface chipset knowledge, including UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, PCI/PCIe, Ethernet, USB, network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP).
• Circuit tools (Or-Cad, PADS, etc.) and VHDL tools (Xilinx, Altera FPGA design tools, etc.).
• Experience implementing hardware and/or firmware solutions.
• Knowledge of C or C++ and CAD tools (Cadence or CAD Capture).

Salary

$83,000 - $95,000 per year
