Firewall Engineer
About the role
Located in Charlotte, NC, this Firewall Engineer position is a 12+ month contract (4 days onsite, 1 day remote per week). The engineer will administer roles and access privileges within the Palo Alto environment, supporting remote access across the organization. The company utilizes Prisma Access for VPN connectivity and Prisma Browser for secure remote access. The role primarily manages an access request queue, ensuring timely and accurate provisioning, while also contributing to the design and implementation of new roles and group-based access structures. With significant organizational changes on the horizon impacting user groups, the individual will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to identify application requirements and align access appropriately. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to balance stakeholder engagement with focused, independent work in a high-volume, task-driven environment.
