Fireman

Responsibilities

• Tests and documents required parameters associated with all Energy Center equipment (both mechanical and chemical).
• Assists Stationary Engineer in the operation and maintenance of high‑pressure steam boilers, chillers, cogeneration and auxiliary equipment.
• Tests and ensures proper water chemistry of the boilers, chillers, cogeneration and cooling towers.
• Performs hourly rounds of Energy Center and logs all parameters for review and repair as needed.
• Carries out preventative maintenance of associated equipment as required by Stationary Engineer.
• Inspects cooling towers for proper operation including, but not limited to, gearbox oil, water level and steam injection system.
• Records gas and fuel oil usage in outer buildings as required.
• Inspects the gas tranes for the Energy Center and Cogeneration Plant.
• Conducts periodic inspections of utility pits containing utility systems to the medical center.
• Assists Stationary Engineers in start‑up, operating and securing all related systems.
• Assists outside contractors in performing tasks related to the Energy Center.
• Ensures the Energy Center is kept clean and orderly.
• Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Mechanical Trade School, preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) year plant operations experience, required.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
