About the role

ASRC Federal is seeking a Firefighter Trainee to attend a 8-Week, in-person firefighter course to become a certified Firefighter in support of our Vance AFB Base Operations Support Contract located in Enid, Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

  • Attend an 8-Week, in-person firefighter course comprised of intense classroom and physical, hands-on training held at the Tulsa Tech Campus.
  • Pass the Physical Fitness Evaluation to include strength, agility, and claustrophobia test prior to the beginning of the firefighter course.
  • Obtain the following courses within seven days of selection and prior to the beginning of the firefighter course:
    • IS-100.C: Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS 100
    • ICS 100
    • IS-200.C: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response
    • IS-700.B: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System
    • IS-800.D: National Response Framework, An Introduction

Requirements

  • Must have a High School degree or equivalent
  • Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident, due to contract requirements
  • Must pass a background check and drug test
  • Must pass the Physical Fitness Evaluation to include strength, agility, and claustrophobia test prior to the beginning of the firefighter course

Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain the following course within seven days of selection and prior to the beginning of the firefighter course:
    • IS-100.C: Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS 100
    • ICS 100
    • IS-200.C: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response
    • IS-700.B: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System
    • IS-800.D: National Response Framework, An Introduction

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possess the following certifications:
    • IS-100.C: Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS 100
    • ICS 100
    • IS-200.C: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response
    • IS-700.B: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System
    • IS-800.D: National Response Framework, An Introduction
  • Volunteer Fire Department experience
