About the role
The Forsyth County Fire Department seeks candidates with no prior Fire/EMS experience. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team dedicated to protecting the community through teamwork, integrity, excellence, and service.
Responsibilities
- Respond to incidents including fires, medical emergencies, and vehicle accidents.
- Engage in specialized operations such as Hazardous Materials Response, Technical Rescue, Dive Rescue, and Swift Water Rescue.
- Maintain physical and mental readiness through training and fitness programs.
- Ensure equipment and apparatus are in good working order.
- Enforce fire codes and regulations.
- Operate and maintain fire equipment and apparatus.
- Prepare and maintain administrative records.
- Provide support to other employees and departments.
- Work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the US, possess a high school diploma or GED, and legally authorized to drive.
- Valid Georgia Firefighter 1 and 2 certifications.
- Georgia State EMT-I or National Registry EMT-A license.
- May require additional certifications based on unit assignment.
Qualifications
Must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license or Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
