What You’ll Do
- Respond to fire, medical, hazmat, weather, and facility emergencies
- Perform fire suppression using apparatus, hydrants, hose stations, and extinguishers
- Conduct rescue operations (vehicle, machinery, high/low angle)
- Provide medical response, patient care, triage, stabilization, and transport
- Communicate incident details to dispatch, supervisors, and medical staff
- Auxiliary hazardous materials spill containment
- Perform patrols, escorts, access control, and reporting as needed
- Complete required reports and logs
- NFPA Firefighter I & II
- Hazardous Materials Awareness & Operations
- EMT or EMR certification (Indiana or National Registry)
- Out-of-state certifications must transfer to Indiana within 90 days
- Must be able to meet and continue to meet all applicable state, county, and local certification requirements for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) level certification
- Able to meet the physical and certification requirements of the role (with or without reasonable accommodation)
