About the role
As a Supervisor Customer Experience Specialist in Firearms/Sporting Goods, you oversee associates within assigned department(s), utilizing leadership skills to empower them to provide customers with an exceptional shopping experience. You will guide customers to products that meet their needs, maintain up-to-date product knowledge, and organize and maintain firearms in all store locations, including the Firearms Counter and Firearms Vault. You will ensure 4473 forms are completed thoroughly and accurately, and receive incoming firearms using logbooks and electronic systems.
Responsibilities
- Greet every customer with eye contact and a smile in your authentic way.
- Acknowledge every waiting customer as soon as they arrive to let them know you’ll be right with them.
- Listen to customer needs; ask appropriate follow-up questions to offer products that meet their specific needs.
- Ensure customers have an extraordinary shopping experience.
- Lead associates using effective communication skills and train/mentor them to provide exceptional service.
- Complete transactions accurately and efficiently while engaging customers in conversation.
- Assist in arranging sales floor space, setting up promotional fixtures, displaying merchandise, and signing.
- Demonstrate specialty product knowledge to assist customers and make recommendations for multiple sales.
- Drive customer loyalty and promote the Military Star credit card to increase sales.
- Maintain compliance with safety, security, and service procedures for recordkeeping, inventory, storage, display, and sales.
- Maintain employee communication folders, including records for communication, time and attendance, and job descriptions.
- Communicate performance standards and provide feedback to associates.
- Operate cash registers or sales-related equipment for transactions, refunds, and new accounts.
- Verify and accept multiple payment tenders, ensuring accuracy with zero variance tolerance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Completion of high school or equivalent.
- Retail experience.
- Demonstrated willingness and potential for additional responsibility.
- Previous experience with inventory control procedures preferred.
- Prior knowledge and experience with firearms preferred.
- Understanding of ATF laws and regulations.
- Able to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
- Able to think quickly to answer customer questions.
- Able to take initiative and share brand knowledge.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Willing to cross-train and work in other areas of the store as needed.
- Must possess a welcoming and helpful attitude toward customers and team members.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- 12 months of retail experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Schedule
- Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Monday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Thursday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Saturday: Day off
Pay
Salary range: $18.64 – $27.13 per hour.
