Firearms Associate

About the role

Build Your Career with Rural King Rural King is seeking a Firearms Sales Associate to provide knowledgeable customer service while assisting with firearms, ammunition, accessories, and related products. This role requires firearms product knowledge, sales and customer service skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of applicable firearms laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service & Sales: Greet customers and identify their needs, preferences, and budget.
• Customer Service & Sales: Provide knowledgeable, unbiased product information and recommendations.
• Customer Service & Sales: Assist customers with firearms, ammunition, accessories, and related products.
• Customer Service & Sales: Process sales, special orders, returns, payments, and required documentation accurately through the POS system.
• Customer Service & Sales: Support sales through promotions, upselling, cross-selling, RK Firearms Plus Protection Plan, and loyalty program awareness.
• Firearms Compliance & Safety: Follow all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to firearms sales and transfers.
• Firearms Compliance & Safety: Follow the Firearms SOP and complete required compliance training.
• Firearms Compliance & Safety: Maintain accurate records and protect confidential customer information.
• Firearms Compliance & Safety: Promote safe and responsible practices and escalate compliance concerns to leadership.
• Merchandising & Store Support: Maintain clean, organized, accurately priced, and visually appealing firearms displays.
• Merchandising & Store Support: Support inventory accuracy, signage, zoning, and sales floor presentation.
• Merchandising & Store Support: Stay current on firearms products, industry developments, and company training.
• Merchandising & Store Support: Participate in cross-training and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous firearms sales, sporting goods, retail, or related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of firearms, ammunition, accessories, safety practices, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Strong customer service, communication, and active listening skills.
• Ability to accurately complete transactions, documentation, and other detail-oriented tasks.
• Ability to use POS systems, computers, and retail technology.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
