Fire Truck Diesel Mechanic
About the role
Atlantic Emergency Solutions works on fire trucks and ambulances that first responders rely on every day. Mechanics work in clean shops designed for serious, skilled work with stable hours and a Monday through Friday schedule.
Responsibilities
- Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, and air systems
- Performing preventative maintenance and repairs on fire trucks and ambulances
- Accurately documenting repairs, labor time, and parts usage
- Completing safety inspections and ensuring vehicles are ready for service
- Maintaining a clean, safe work area and following OSHA and company safety standards
- Assisting other technicians as needed and working as part of a team
Requirements
- Diesel mechanic experience, preferably with heavy duty or emergency vehicles
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening

Schedule
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Overtime is available. No rotating shifts. Paid holidays (no waiting period).

Work Environment
Primary work environment is an indoor service and maintenance shop, with occasional field or outdoor work as needed. Specialty work on fire trucks and ambulances. Special demands include standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing. The position involves exposure to typical shop conditions such as noise, odors, grease, and occasional outdoor weather.
