Fire Systems Sales Representative
About the role
The Fire Systems Sales Representative at Sciens Building Solutions is responsible for developing new opportunities via contractors and end-users within their assigned territory. This position involves selling fire alarm systems and other related systems, achieving sales targets, and building customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Sells fire alarm systems and other related systems.
- Achieves orders/booking and gross margin goals.
- Achieves annual quota assigned and agreed upon by Sales Manager on a consistent basis after initial ramp up period.
- Creates new market share by selling a broad range of products and services to new customers.
- Demonstrates strong prospecting skills and the ability to build customer relationships through consultative selling and promoting customer confidence in Sciens.
- Sets and follows up on call plans and customer follow-up strategies and tactics; consistently applies time and territory management techniques.
- Influences new construction specifications through engineering relationships and educational meetings/presentations.
- Works with operations, finance, legal and other inside and outside resources as needed to obtain sales.
- Develops and executes tactical sales strategies, including end users, developers, consulting engineers, and contractors.
- Prepares sales promotion campaigns for customers to promote product lines to commercial markets.
Requirements
- Two to five years meeting and succeeding quotas of selling fire alarm systems to contractors and end users.
- Consistent sales performance, ability to organically grow business by providing solutions to new client base.
- Consistently met or exceeded quota in fire alarm sales for the past 2-5 years.
- In-depth understanding of fire alarm life safety systems, low voltage systems, installation and testing.
- Techincal aptitude with understanding of drawings and codes.
- Experience selling technical solutions through the contracting tier.
- Effective communication skills and ability to present before broad audiences.
- Strong negotiation skills and competitive spirit.
- Able to travel by air and/or ground overnight, as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidates with a combination of education and experience will also be considered.
