Do you know fire alarm systems inside and out?
What You'll Do
- Install, program, test, and fix fire alarm systems, panels, and devices
- Check systems on a regular schedule to make sure everything works
- Find and fix problems when a system isn't working right
- Write down what you find, what you fixed, and when you did it
- Read building plans, wiring diagrams, and spec sheets
- Work with project managers, inspectors, and customers as needed
- Follow all fire and electrical codes — local, state, and national
- Keep your tools, test equipment, and work vehicle in good shape
- Answer basic questions and show customers how their system works
- Follow all safety rules and OSHA requirements on every job
What You Need
- A high school diploma or GED
- Experience installing and servicing fire alarm systems
- Knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 70, and local fire codes
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical drawings
- Good at finding and fixing problems
- A valid driver's license with a clean record
- The ability to pass a background check
Nice to Have
- NICET Fire Alarm certification (any level)
- A state or local fire alarm license
- Experience with brands like Honeywell, Siemens, Notifier, Simplex, or Edwards
- Low-voltage electrical experience
- Good people skills and comfort talking with customers
