Responsibilities

  • Install pipe systems and valves
  • Cut, thread, assemble, and bond piping and tubes according to specifications
  • Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, and fittings
  • Remove and replace worn components
  • Follow blueprints to meet product specifications
  • Calculate material measurements to verify specifications
  • Mentor and coach Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentices and Helpers on proper installation techniques
  • Ensure company-provided vehicle is clean and well maintained in accordance with company policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Advanced technical school training or related work experience (preferred)
  • Current Fire Sprinkler License (required)
  • 3-5 years’ experience installing pipe systems and valves (required); 5+ years’ experience (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to comply with drug and alcohol policy and background screening requirements, including customer-specific requirements based on contractual agreements

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently bend, ascend and descend step stools, ladders, and stairs
  • Frequently kneel, lift up to 50 lbs, reach above and below shoulders, stand and walk for extended periods
  • Frequently see in color, at close and far distances, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjust focus
  • Occasionally balance, crouch, drive, kneel, lift over 50 lbs, sit, stoop, twist, and work at heights

Work Environment

  • Frequent local travel and occasional regional/non-regional travel
  • Frequent work inside and outside in hot/cold temperatures
  • Exposure to loud noises, cramped quarters, dust, fumes, odors, standing on hard surfaces, and electrical hazards
  • Occasional exposure to chemicals, moving machinery, uneven and slippery surfaces
  • Consistent use of appropriate personal protective equipment as required by company safety policies
