About the Role

Build your career with the industry-leading fire, life safety, and security company as a Fire Sprinkler Foreman. You will be responsible for the complete installation of fire sprinkler systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Foremen manage specific installation projects assigned by the Fire Sprinkler Manager and oversee technicians, installation fitters, and assistants on-site to ensure flawless execution.

Responsibilities

  • Use project drawings to interpret installation requirements accurately and delegate tasks to fitters, mechanics, and assistants to meet project deadlines and goals.
  • Install and test fire suppression equipment in new or retrofit construction projects.
  • Follow designed plans and communicate any needed design changes to fit actual site requirements.
  • Manage materials delivered to the site and perform minor fabrication on the job site.
  • Update daily installation progress notes on job contract drawings and report any necessary changes to the manager.
  • Instruct and train helpers, apprentices, or other personnel in basic processes, repairs, and system installations.
  • Accurately complete and maintain all paperwork.
  • Maintain vehicle and tools as per company policy.
  • Use hand tools, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic power tools.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of pipefitting, plumbing regulations, and fire protection codes.
  • Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record to operate a company vehicle.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of fire safety.
  • Knowledge of codes and regulations related to fire sprinkler installation.
  • Ability to review official documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ability to act in a lead capacity and recognize/report deviations through inspection programs.
  • Ability to interpret, apply, and explain applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to use or repair small/light equipment, such as power tools, ladders, and medium machinery.

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Lift and/or move heavy objects occasionally.
  • Perform physical tasks including balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity.
