About the role

Fire Sprinkler Inspectors perform inspections, testing, and maintenance on fire sprinkler systems and other water-based systems in accordance with all national and local standards. They also supply hands-on training and coaching to entry-level Inspectors. Our Fire Sprinkler Inspectors are crucial to a company's fire safety strategy, contributing to the protection of life, property, and business operations by ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and providing peace of mind to building owners.

Responsibilities

  • Assist higher-level inspectors with testing of fire pumps, wet systems, dry systems, tamper switches, water-flow devices, and hydrants
  • Assist with inspection, testing, and service for wet, dry, pre-action and deluge fire sprinkler systems; backflow preventers; water tanks; fire hydrants; foam-based systems; water mist systems; and fire pumps per NFPA 25 standards
  • Follow and maintain highly structured inspection schedules
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all tests performed and complete service ticket documentation and inspection reports before leaving customer site
  • Generate reports within Siemens tools and upload to the required city municipality websites
  • Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operation and routine inspections; assist with training

Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical and electrical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions
  • Use of hand tools, laptop (proficient in Microsoft Office), email, smartphone, and tablet
  • Ability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
  • Must be able to differentiate types/colors of wire
  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to meet the physical demands described in the Requirements section

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED
  • 1+ year experience performing Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Sprinkler and/or Fire Life Safety Systems
  • Must obtain NICET Certification in Inspection and Testing Water-Based Systems Level I or state certification within 12 months
  • Electro-mechanical experience (either from previous professional experience and/or education)

Pay

The pay range for this position is $33,629 - $57,650 annually. The actual wage offered may vary depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
