About the role
Eagle Fire Inc., founded in 1987, specializes in fire protection services including fire sprinkler systems, fire alarms, and life safety solutions for various commercial, industrial, government, and mercantile facilities. We are expanding across Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas, focusing on improving scheduling efficiency and enhancing customer response times.
Key Responsibilities
- Create designs, submittal drawings, and permit drawings for local renovations, upfits, and small-scale projects.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA codes, local regulations, and AHJ requirements.
- Generate material lists and equipment specifications based on design drawings.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and verify system performance criteria.
- Collaborate with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) to facilitate smooth permitting and approval processes.
- Support field teams with design clarifications, adjustments, and small sketches.
- Affirm project costs based on design requirements.
- Participate in pre-submittal meetings, project reviews, and job cost discussions.
- Maintain accurate project documentation for company records and compliance purposes.
- Communicate design challenges, project schedules, and updates to customers and internal teams.
Job Requirements
- NICET Level II or higher in Fire Sprinkler Layout (or ability to obtain).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or SprinkCAD (or similar design software).
- Familiarity with NFPA 13, 14, 20, and applicable building codes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing small commercial upfits, retail, or office renovations.
- Experience working with local fire marshals and permitting offices.
- Prior field experience in fire sprinkler installation or inspections.
