Responsibilities
- Build lasting relationships with fire departments, municipalities, and emergency service organizations throughout your territory.
- Demonstrate industry-leading fire and rescue equipment, explain product capabilities, and help customers choose the solutions that best fit their operational needs.
- Guide customers through the entire purchasing process—from the first conversation to delivery and beyond.
- Become a trusted advisor by understanding each department's unique challenges and recommending the right equipment—not just making a sale.
- Follow MacQueen's proven 5-4-3-2-1 Sales Methodology while developing new business and growing existing accounts.
- Stay informed on competitor products and market trends to position MacQueen as the preferred partner.
- Maintain accurate customer activity, opportunities, forecasts, wins, and losses within our CRM.
- Help customers understand available financing options to make purchasing new and used apparatus easier.
- Resolve customer concerns quickly while delivering the exceptional service MacQueen is known for.
- Roll up your sleeves and jump in wherever needed to support the team and our customers.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Business, Sales, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Five or more years of successful outside sales experience, preferably within the fire service, emergency services, municipal, fleet, heavy equipment, or related industries.
- Experience using CRM platforms and ERP systems such as CDK.
- A self-starter mentality—you don't wait for opportunities; you create them.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills that make customers want to work with you for years.
- Excellent organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new technology.
- A passion for serving first responders and helping them succeed in the field.
Territory
Candidates should live within the assigned sales territory to effectively support customers, conduct on-site demonstrations, and respond quickly to department needs.
Physical requirements
- Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach or otherwise move frequently.
- Occasional repetitive motion and grasping; climbing to reach areas on equipment.
- Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. occasionally, >20 lbs. frequently.
- Typically sits, grasp items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer.
- Travel by car frequently, by air occasionally.
