What You'll Be Doing

You'll manage and grow a territory by building strong relationships with fire departments, municipalities, and emergency response organizations. You'll spend your time where it matters most—in front of customers, understanding their challenges, demonstrating solutions, and helping ensure first responders have the equipment they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.

  • Meeting with Fire Chiefs, officers, and purchasing decision-makers
  • Demonstrating industry-leading firefighting equipment and gear
  • Building long-term customer relationships through consultative selling
  • Identifying opportunities to expand existing accounts and develop new business
  • Maintaining accurate sales activity and forecasting through CRM
  • Understanding customer budgets, purchasing processes, and financing options
  • Staying current on industry trends, products, and competitor offerings
  • Serving as a trusted advisor—not just a salesperson

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has 5+ years of successful outside sales experience, preferably in the fire service, emergency services, public safety, municipal, fleet, industrial, or related industries
  • Has a consultative selling mindset with the ability to uncover customer needs and recommend tailored solutions
  • Has a proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships over the long term
  • Has experience managing a sales territory and working independently with minimal supervision
  • Has strong organizational skills and the discipline to maintain accurate customer records, sales activity, and forecasts within a CRM system
  • Has excellent communication and presentation skills with the confidence to demonstrate products and engage decision-makers
  • Has a competitive drive paired with a customer-first attitude
  • Understands the unique challenges first responders face and is passionate about supporting those who serve their communities

ADA Requirements

  • Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach or otherwise move frequently
  • Occasional repetitive motion and grasping; climbing to reach areas on equipment
  • Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. occasionally, >20 lbs. frequently
  • Typically sits, grasp items and perform keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer
  • Travel by car frequently, by air occasionally

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Business, Sales, or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience working with fire departments, emergency services, municipalities, or public safety organizations
  • Experience selling technical equipment, apparatus, PPE, tools, or other mission-critical products
  • Understanding of the unique challenges first responders face and passion for supporting those who serve their communities
