Accountabilities
- Independently manage intermediate to advanced engineering activities while collaborating with senior technical staff and project teams.
- Develop and oversee fire protection and plumbing engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
- Perform advanced plumbing system design tasks, engineering analysis, hydraulic calculations, and code reviews under established project requirements.
- Prepare and review construction documents using tools such as AutoCAD and Revit to support accurate project execution.
- Survey existing conditions, gather project data, and contribute to pre-construction planning activities.
- Support construction administration by reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, evaluating submittals, and assisting with project closeout activities.
- Communicate directly with clients on technical topics and serve as a trusted engineering resource when required.
- Maintain project documentation, progress reports, RFI logs, and internal tracking systems to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Leverage AI-enabled tools and evolving digital workflows to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance engineering outcomes.
- Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions while meeting deadlines and organizational objectives.
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, fire protection, and plumbing engineering principles.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage complex projects independently.
- A proactive mindset and interest in emerging technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical, plumbing, or fire protection engineering.
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, specifications, and design practices.
- Experience performing and analyzing hydraulic calculations and engineering assessments.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, and technical documentation tools.
- Ability to analyze technical information, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment through self-management, collaboration, and proactive communication.
- Experience applying AI tools or digital technologies to improve workflows and operational efficiency (a plus).
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative engineering team.
