Fire Protection Engineering Lead, Capacity Delivery

About the role

The Capacity Delivery Team at Fluidstack is responsible for engineering gigawatts of compute capacity from concept to operational readiness. This role focuses on fire protection engineering across the portfolio, ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and getting nonstandard designs approved through performance-based paths.

Responsibilities

• Lead fire protection engineering for industrial or mission-critical facilities
• Get nonstandard designs approved through performance-based paths
• Understand and apply NFPA 13, 72, 75, and 855 at the section level
• Work closely with AHJs to ensure approvals are obtained ahead of schedule
• Review fire protection designs and calculations to provide the authority the AHJ trusts

Requirements

• Led fire protection engineering for industrial or mission critical facilities
• Got nonstandard designs approved through performance-based paths
• Knowledge of NFPA 13, 72, 75, and 855 at the section level
• Experience working with AHJs to secure approvals
• Ability to review fire protection designs and calculations

Qualifications

• PE license in Fire Protection Engineering (FPE)
• Clean agent and water mist systems experience
• Lithium-ion storage protection expertise
• Data center fire protection experience

Skills

• Strong understanding of NFPA codes and standards
• Experience with performance-based fire protection design
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
