Fire Protection Engineer Intern - Mission Critical

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing designs, analyses, calculations, and models related to fire protection systems, life safety systems, and passive fire protection building features.
• Assist with conducting project site visits to observe construction and witness system testing.
• Follow quality control processes and design standards.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplined design teams.
• Engage in an active learning environment with mentorship from experienced engineers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Pursuing BS or MS in Architectural Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or another related engineering degree from accredited program.
• 3.0 GPA or higher strongly preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office software is preferred.
• Experience with architectural/architectural engineering projects or internships is preferred.
• Finished at least two years of school.
• Involved in campus, community, and other volunteer activities and/or organizations.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk around the office for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
