Job: Fire Protection Engineering Intern – Fire Protection group Location: Lenexa KS Build Your Future With GBA GBA Companies is welcoming Engineering students to join us this upcoming summer for an internship in our Fire Protection group. What You’ll Do As a Fire Protection Engineering Intern, you’ll: Assist with preparing designs, analyses, calculations, and models related to fire protection systems, life safety systems, and passive fire protection building features.Assist with conducting project site visits to observe construction and witness system testing.Follow quality control processes and design standards.Collaborate with multi-disciplined design teams.Engage in an active learning environment with mentorship from experienced engineers.Other duties as assigned. What You'll Bring: Pursuing BS or MS in Architectural Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or another related engineering degree from accredited program.3.0 GPA or higher strongly preferredExperience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office software is preferredExperience with architectural/architectural engineering projects or internships is preferred.Finished at least two years of schoolInvolved in campus, community, and other volunteer activities and/ or organizationStrong communication skills, both oral and writtenExcellent problem solving and analytical skills Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, walk around the office for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 10 pounds Join Our Team If you’re a motivated engineering student who takes pride in contributing to safe, high-quality projects, we’d love to hear from you.
