Responsibilities

  • Leading the fire protection design of multiple projects of various sizes.

  • Preparing reports and studies.

  • Selecting, specifying, and estimating costs of fire protection system equipment and components.

  • Performing calculations as required.

  • Conducting periodic construction site inspections.

  • Supervising staff on project teams.

  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in fire protection or mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.

  • At least six years of relevant plumbing engineering experience.

  • PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in additional states.

Qualifications

  • Experience in leading fire protection design of complex projects including fire suppression/sprinkler, fire alarm, and life safety building analysis.

  • Experience in performing calculations for system layout and sizing.

  • Experience using Revit to create bid document drawings.

  • Experience designing systems for Federal Government projects.

  • Experience with fire protection and building codes.

  • NICET III or IV certification for water based system layout and fire alarm from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies is preferred.

  • Experience or familiarity with generative AI-driven tools, platforms, or systems (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, Chat GPT, Claude, Gemini) to enhance productivity, automate tasks, and reduce errors.

Pay

$100,000 to $150,000 - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set, or location.

Schedule

The position offers a flexible hybrid work schedule, requiring at least three days per week on-site at our office.
