Fire Protection Engineer

Responsibilities
Leading the fire protection design of multiple projects of various sizes.
Preparing reports and studies.
Selecting, specifying, and estimating costs of fire protection system equipment and components.
Performing calculations as required.
Conducting periodic construction site inspections.
Supervising staff on project teams.
Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in fire protection or mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.
At least six years of relevant plumbing engineering experience.
PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in additional states.
Qualifications
Experience in leading fire protection design of complex projects including fire suppression/sprinkler, fire alarm, and life safety building analysis.
Experience in performing calculations for system layout and sizing.
Experience using Revit to create bid document drawings.
Experience designing systems for Federal Government projects.
Experience with fire protection and building codes.
NICET III or IV certification for water based system layout and fire alarm from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies is preferred.
Experience or familiarity with generative AI-driven tools, platforms, or systems (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, Chat GPT, Claude, Gemini) to enhance productivity, automate tasks, and reduce errors.

Pay
$100,000 to $150,000 - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set, or location.
Schedule
The position offers a flexible hybrid work schedule, requiring at least three days per week on-site at our office.
